WHAT DRIVES YOUR LIFE?

Everyone’s life is driven by something. What is driving me is my dream, My dream story…..

Who is a dreamer? Dreamers are the people who accomplished the deeds that history remembers. We have diverse dreams; some dreams tend to be selfish, while others are selfless. Some dreams fail, most of us have both kinds of dreams. But what is your own dream? What drives your life?

Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6.33). If we seek God’s will for our lives, our dreams will fall into their proper place.

Prophet Isiah knows what had driven him, he knows his dream, his assignments, and his dream and he prophesied saying:

Isiah 62:1-5.
62 For Zion’s sake I will not [a]hold My peace, And for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory In the hand of the LORD, And a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.
4 You shall no longer be termed Forsaken,[b] Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;[c] But you shall be called [d]Hephzibah, and your land [e]Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.

What helped Joseph achieve his dreams is because of the fear of God. He was so righteous before God Almighty. Remember when Potiphar's wife asked him to sleep with her, he replied to her this way-

Genesis 39:8-9 NIV

8 But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”

We must plan and work to make our dreams happen. Do not say “Whatever is to will be”. We must exert ourselves in an organized way to see our dreams come to pass.  ‘God’s will for his children is to succeed in every way. Are you a good dreamer like Joseph? But you are afraid to verbalize it or even pray about it because you’re afraid it won’t come to pass. Let me ask you a question. “What grows on a lake that is frozen over in winter? Absolutely nothing. The same thing can happen to your mind if you are not open to trying new ideas to advance your life.

WORK IN YOUR SCARS INTO STARS

Many people’s dreams have slipped through the cracks, why? Because of a single failure. You can turn your failure into success. But the first thing to do is to put God first in your life. God is a success in all he does. Many of the greatest accomplishments in history today have been done against impossible odds because someone had a dream.

YOU CAN STILL DREAM ANOTHER DREAM

Genesis 37:1-10

37 Jacob lived in the land where his father had stayed, the land of Canaan.
2 This is the account of Jacob’s family line.
Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate[a] robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: 7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”
8 His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.
9 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” 11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

It’s important to know what is driving you in life because:
You will avoid doing things or pursuing goals for the wrong reasons.
You will know what your right next steps are.
You won’t experience confusion.
You will avoid drifting or feeling stuck.
You will take action to get what you want out of life.
You will have a greater sense of your purpose in life and where you’re heading.
You will make better choices and get meaningful things done.
You will have greater self-awareness.
You’re more likely to experience lasting change if you know what’s motivating you.

• Do you know that over 17.5 million children are abandoned in Nigeria, some of these children are molested? • Therefore, for the past 5 years the founders of River and Tree of Life Foundation – RATOLF have been supporting and sponsoring the Save Abandoned and Molested Children in Nigeria initiative, organised by RATOLF. • RATOLF launched this initiative to provide relief and rescue some of the abandoned fraction of Nigerian society. • RATOLF has so far helped churches and communities by providing needful equipment such as keyboards, public address system and paid tuition fees for abandoned children. • RATOLF’s project will initially train 10 local leaders to facilitate agency-based empowerment workshop and support 300 vulnerable girls and boys with tuition fees, school supplies, food, and counselling. • However, the need for support has grown beyond the capacity of the founders, if at all, we are to achieve the objective of the initiative. • Therefore, we are asking for ...

How to Overcome Depression

Many people who are suffering from depression today and looking for a way out think the only way to overcome depression is by drinking and smoking. Many think that smoking and drinking will suppress depression. When they look for a way out through smoking and drinking and find no solution, they think that the necessary thing to do is to kill themselves by hanging or any means by which death can come. Thousands of people have killed themselves while they were looking for a way where there is no way. The only way out of depression is in CHRIST JESUS. Depression hits almost every family. Depression can be a normal reaction to the adverse circumstances of life. It can also be a feeling that follows the loss of a loved one, the loss of health due to an accident or illness, or the loss of something that we consider valuable such as a job, a business going bankrupt, or status to name a few.  People suffering from mild depression usually recover in a short period of time. For others, recov...
Before you set your goals for this year and even the years to come, determine your values. Just as your gifts dictate your potential, your character determines your legacy. Your accomplishments may make your name known but your character will determine what people associate with that name. Success does not make anything easier, it just raises the stakes. The day will come, as you advance in life when “progress” will call for compromising your convictions. What hangs in the balance at that moment is your moral authority. There are two major enemies of purpose, namely distraction and misdirection. In addition to distraction and misdirection, you also need to watch out for fatal attractions. That was the enemy that killed Amnon, the 1 st son of David. His name means “faithful and true” but his fatal attraction to Tamar whose name means “Palm Tree” led to his demise. In your moments of prayer and intercession, pray and intercede against these subtle enemies  [Proverbs 2:1‐7 (see verse ...
